Putting our Values In Action in July:
Care packages for the Oregon National Guard in Iraq

Change is about our communities and the people in them, with whom we share spaces, resources, a home, a story. “The ‘Values in Action’ program is a way for people who believe in Obama’s message of change to extend their commitment to their local community,” said Trent Lutz, Executive Director of the Democratic Party of Oregon.

This year, Wasco County Democrats sponsored a "non-food drive" to benefit our regional food bank. In May a group of Democrats put in a day of yard work and painting at a local group home operated by Opportunity Connections (formerly Columbia Gorge Center). In June, we collected donations and sent care packages to members of the Oregon National Guard in Iraq. We will continue this project into July, collecting donations at our booth at Jammin' July Fest.
